Sight and Sound: In these examples I've decided to show we can see a recurring monochromatic theme that covers the main image but not the masthead and tagline, I believe they have purposely done this to demonstrate the significance of the brand, 'Sight and Sound' and 'The Future Of Film', this attracts the audience into purchasing. This also refers to the colour palette that Sight and Sound tend to use, they choose a black and white for the main image but when it comes to main cover lines, tag line or masthead they use a random vibrant colour. In the third example the main image is using direct address by creating eye-contact with the viewer which makes it seem more personal, as well as that frequent monochromatic tone which creates a serious attitude, Sight and Sound do this to create relationships with their audience. On the third image if we take notice to the cover lines we can see an engaging quote that gives the audience a sort of responsibility, 'My hope? More different kinds of voices.'. This is another example of Sight and Sound making their cover more interactive, the quote is also the third biggest text on the page which signifies the importance in order. Another thing to note about the text is that it is all in block caps with a sans serif font which gives it a smooth simplistic look. Overall I chose to analyse Sight and Sound because I like how it uses one main image instead of using lots of random images on the front-cover, it gives it a smooth simplistic look, as well as the strict colour palette of only three adds to that smooth simplistic look.
